Indonesian Paradise Found: Single Pavilion Breakfast with a #TB View!
Indonesian Paradise Found: Single Pavilion Breakfast with a #TB View! - A Rambling Review
Alright, buckle up buttercups, because I'm about to spill the tea – or, more accurately, the kopi – on my recent (and slightly rambling) experience at what they’re calling “Indonesian Paradise Found.” Let me tell you, the marketing guys nailed the name. Because, well, it was kind of paradise… until it wasn't. (Just kidding… mostly.) This review is going to be a bit all over the place, just like my brain after a week lounging by a pool. So, here we go…
First Impressions & The "TB View" (and what the hell is TB anyway?)
My initial reaction? Wow. The entrance was postcard-worthy, all lush greenery and that humid, tropical air that just wraps around you like a warm, fuzzy blanket. Then you get to the single pavilions – apparently, the place to be if you’re a solo traveler looking for chill vibes. And the "TB View?" Well, that's the Terrace & Breakfast view, as I came to understand. And damn, it's gorgeous. Think rolling hills, maybe a sneaky volcano in the distance (can’t be sure, my glasses were fogging up from the humidity!), and a ridiculously Instagrammable morning spread waiting for you. This really set the tone. This was it, I thought to myself. This was going to be the life.
The Breakfast Debacle (or, Why I Started a Love Affair with the Asian Breakfast)
Okay, let’s get one thing straight: I love breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day, the fuel to take on the day, the reason I get out of bed. And at this place? Pure gold. I'm usually a bacon-and-eggs kinda gal (Western breakfast, all the way!), but the Asian breakfast? Holy moly. The nasi goreng? The mie goreng? The fresh fruit platters that looked like edible art? My taste buds experienced a full-blown party. I practically inhaled the entire buffet for the first few days. Which brings me to my first… minor complaint.
The buffet was pretty much the same every day. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, but a little variety wouldn't have killed them. Maybe a rotating "Chef's Special" or something? But hey, I wasn't complaining too much, because I was already plotting my return to the buffet for round two. It was that good. (Breakfast service was impeccable though, and the staff were super accommodating.) Then, disaster struck.
The bacon ran out.
I kid, I kid. (Kind of.) The real issue wasn't the lack of bacon, but the fact that I somehow managed to drop my perfectly-constructed breakfast masterpiece all over myself. It was a full-blown food explosion: eggs, rice, fruit… everywhere. My white linen shirt was a lost cause. (Thank goodness for the Laundry service – and their surprisingly efficient dry cleaning!) And that, my friends, is the moment my idyllic paradise began to… wobble. But hey! This is life, am I right?
The Room: My Cozy Little Hideaway
My single pavilion (the "room" listed here, I guess) was a sanctuary. Air conditioning? Check. Blackout curtains? Double-check. (Those morning sunrises were brutal, y'all.) A comfy bed and a mini-bar stocked with all the guilty pleasures? Sign. Me. Up. The free Wi-Fi was a godsend – allowed me to shamelessly bombard my social media with photos of the views. I also loved the little touches; the fresh flowers, the complimentary tea (and coffee maker, obviously!), and the in-room safe, which stored my worldly possessions (read: passport and credit cards). The soundproofing was also top-notch because the birds were loud and I’m a light sleeper, but soundproofing kept out the world. The bathroom was spacious and clean, with all the essentials. The daily housekeeping was flawless, and I swear every day it smelt divine. (They also left complimentary bottled water, so I didn't have to constantly rely on the tap.) Overall, it was exactly what I needed: a space to retreat to and recharge after long days of… doing nothing (and enjoying all the food).
Accessibility & The Good Stuff: Pool, Spa, and… Sauna?
Now for the broader stuff. I didn't use all the amenities of the hotel, but the pool, with its breathtaking view, was a highlight. Swimming pool [outdoor] and Pool with view, both listed here, so, in this aspect, they delivered! It was the perfect place to chill out with a cocktail (Happy hour! Thank you, bar!) and just soak up the sun. Or, you know, pretend to be meditating. The spa was also divine. Massage? Check. Spa/sauna? Check. I lost myself in a body scrub, and for a few blissful hours, I forgot all about the breakfast incident. The gym was well, it was there, but I spent most of my time focused on the food – I’m not sure anyone else used it either.
Accessibility: While I didn't specifically require wheelchair accessibility, the property seemed relatively easy to navigate. There were elevators (Elevator) and the pathways were pretty flat and easy to walk. The front desk staff are very helpful.
Eating, Drinking, and the Food Coma
The food at Indonesian Paradise Found, in general, was great. There were multiple restaurants (Restaurants), and they all offered a variety of cuisines, including International cuisine in restaurant. There was even a dedicated vegetarian restaurant, which, as a sometimes-vegetarian, I greatly appreciated. The pool side bar (Poolside bar) served great cocktails and snacks, and the coffee shop was the perfect spot for a mid-afternoon caffeine pick-me-up. Room service [24-hour] was a lifesaver during my late-night snack attacks. The Asian cuisine in restaurant was consistently delicious. One of the restaurants had a happy hour as well… which, let’s face it, became a daily ritual.
Safety, Hygiene, and The Pandemic Times
In this pandemic era, safety and cleanliness are paramount, and I was thoroughly impressed. The hotel seemed to take hygiene very seriously. There was hand sanitizer everywhere, staff wore masks and gloves, and the common areas were cleaned regularly. (Daily disinfection in common areas) The staff seemed very well trained in safety protocol. They also had a lot of individually-wrapped food options, which I appreciated. I also had the option to opt-out of them sanitizing my room every day, if I wanted. (Room sanitization opt-out available). I felt completely safe and comfortable. These are important things, so, a big tick!
The Nitty Gritty: Services, Conveniences, and Things That Matter
Aside from the aforementioned services, they offered a ton more. The service was generally excellent. A doorman helped with bags and directions and everything, front desk was super helpful, and there was a concierge available for booking excursions. I used the dry cleaning and laundry service. The complimentary toiletries were a nice touch. There was also a convenience store for those last-minute essentials. (Though, let's be honest, I mostly went there for snacks.)
Internet Access: They had free Wi-Fi in all rooms! And Wi-Fi in public areas, which was handy. Internet [LAN] seemed like a thing, but I didn’t use it.
For the Kids and Everything Else
I wasn’t traveling with kids, so I can’t personally vouch for the kid-friendliness, but the hotel did have babysitting service and family/child-friendly facilities. There were also facilities for disabled guests.
The Verdict: Paradise Found… Again.
Would I go back? Absolutely. Despite the breakfast fiasco (hey, it happens!), my stay at Indonesian Paradise Found was a truly rejuvenating experience. The stunning views, the delicious food, the comfy room, and the impeccable service all contributed to an unforgettable trip. It wasn't perfect, but that's what made it real. It was paradise with a healthy dose of reality – and a whole lot of nasi goreng. So, to anyone considering a trip? Go. Book it. And don't forget the sunscreen. And maybe a spare shirt, just in case.
Indonesian Paradise: 3BR Villa w/ Private Pool & Breakfast!Okay, buckle up, buttercup. This isn't your polished travel brochure. This is me, bleeding onto the page with all the glory and gristle of a trip to… Single Pavilion-Breakfast#TB Indonesia. Get ready to get real.
Single Pavilion-Breakfast#TB Indonesia: A Descent into Deliciousness (and Possibly, Disaster)
Day 1: Arrival, Existential Dread, and the Quest for Coffee
- 6:00 AM (ish) – The Great Airport Shuffle: Ugh. Airports. They're designed to sap your will to live. Found myself in a queue that snaked longer than my last relationship. Jet lag already kicking in, which means my brain feels vaguely… like scrambled eggs. Did I even pack sunscreen? Panic intensifies.
- 7:30 AM – Customs Conundrums: Got through customs (miraculously!) and the air hit me like a warm, humid… well, Indonesian market. Immediately overwhelmed. Everything smells like spice and possibility. My backpack, however, smells faintly of moldy gym socks, a souvenir from my last "adventure."
- 8:00 AM – The Taxi Tango: Navigating the taxi situation. It’s a total crapshoot, isn’t it? Price haggling commenced. Felt like I lost (probably did).
- 8:45 AM – Check-In Shenanigans: Finally, finally, at the Single Pavilion. Truthfully, the building looks a little… rustic. (Read: probably older than me, and I'm not young.) The lobby is dominated by a large, slightly chipped Buddha statue. I can't decide if it's comforting or judging me for my questionable life choices.
- 9:30 AM – Coffee Crisis: NEED. COFFEE. NOW. The complimentary breakfast isn't happening yet, and my brain is staging a revolt. I stumble upon a small warung (local eatery) down the street. The coffee? Strong. Bitter. Perfect. The tiny plastic stool? A work of art. A small dog starts sniffing my ankles. This is already better than anything I expected.
- 10:30 AM – Room of Truth: The room is… small. Okay, it’s tiny. But the air conditioning works, and the bed looks clean. That's a win. Also, a lizard just did a death-defying leap across the ceiling. Welcome to Indonesia!
Day 2: Breakfast Bonanza and Temple Trouble
- 7:00 AM – The (Finally) Complimentary Breakfast: Alright, let's talk Single Pavilion breakfast. They promised "fresh fruit" and "Indonesian delicacies." What I got was a buffet of… things. The fruit looks a little sad, some of it looks like it has been sitting out for a week. But the nasi goreng (fried rice) is actually amazing. The coffee is hot and not too strong, surprisingly.
- 8:00 AM – Temple Trekking (and Feeling Very Unfit): Decided to visit Borobudur. Got a taxi, sat back in the seats and got excited to see the temple. The driver was also very friendly and even gave me some history facts about the temple. I was in awe of the monument and what it stood for. The journey there was the hard part. The steps! My lungs are protesting. Sweating buckets. I may have muttered "Worth it" more than once.
- 11:00 AM – The Unexpected Beauty: The view. Oh my god, the view. Seeing the sunrise over those ancient stupas… I almost cried. It's breathtaking, and I mean, actually breath-taking. Like, my breath physically caught in my throat.
- 12:00 PM – Lunch Disaster: Found a little warung near the temple. Ordered something that looked delicious in the menu. It wasn't. It was spicy. Like, my-mouth-is-on-fire-and-I-can't-feel-my-lips spicy. Swallowed it down with a very cold Bintang beer.
- 1:00 PM – Nap Time: Back at the hotel. Spent the afternoon napping, partially to recover from the spicy food and partially because I'm still jet-lagged and permanently exhausted.
Day 3: Spice Markets, Lost Dreams, and Finding My Center (of Gravity)
- 9:00 AM – The Spice Bazaar: The local market! I feel like I've stepped into a vibrant painting. Colors, smells, the sheer energy is intoxicating. I got lost in the crowd, got pushed around a bit, and almost got trampled by a scooter. Grabbed some weird-looking dried fruit. (Later, I'll probably regret it.)
- 11:00 AM – The Great Bargaining Battle: Attempted to purchase a batik scarf. The seller was a master negotiator. I walked away feeling both victorious (I think) and slightly robbed.
- 12:00 PM – Lunch. Again! Found a hole-in-the-wall place that served the most amazing gado-gado (Indonesian salad). The peanut sauce was creamy, the vegetables were fresh. It was perfection.
- 1:00 PM – Emotional Meltdown: Back in the hotel room, staring out the window. The trip is amazing, I did not account for the sheer amount of… feeling. Homesickness that rolls in like a tidal wave. The realization that I’m completely alone and the only person I can rely on. I think I might have (accidentally) let a tear escape.
- 2:00 PM – Finding My Center (of Gravity: Literally): Joined a yoga class. The instructor was surprisingly good, and I realized I was more flexible than I thought. The air conditioning broke half way through the class. I laughed. I survived.
Day 4: The Beach, the Sunset, and Saying Goodbye (Maybe)
- 8:00 AM – Beach Bound: Hopped on a bus to a beachside town. The journey was rough, and then some. Road conditions were appalling.
- 10:00 AM – Paradise Found?: The beach is beautiful. The water is warm, the sand is white, and the sun is shining. Someone told me it was a surfer's paradise, I am not a surfer, but this is amazing.
- 11:00 AM – Sunburn Alert: Realized I forgot sunscreen. Again.
- 12:00 PM – Fishy Business: The seafood was fresh. And it felt like I was consuming life after eating the biggest grilled fish and shrimp I have ever seen.
- 5:00 PM – Sunset Symphony: The sunset was… cliché, truly, but it was also stunning. I watched the sky explode with color. I actually teared up, again. What is WITH me?
Day 5: Goodbye, For Real This Time
- 6:00 AM – Packing Panic: My backpack is a mess (again). Will I even get everything in?
- 8:00 AM – Last Breakfast: Another look at that breakfast bar. A final nasi goreng before heading out.
- 9:00 AM – Taxi Trauma: Another taxi, another price negotiation.
- 10:00 AM – Goodbye Indonesia: I hope I can come back at some time.
This trip was a wild ride. But you know what? It was worth it. It was messy, beautiful, and… real. And maybe, just maybe, I learned a little something about myself! (Or at least, about my coffee dependency.)
